SWIMMING: The men’s team finished 6th in the state, with a first-place finish and new school record in the 200 Free Relay (A. Johnson, DeSimone, Keaton, Sutherland). It marked the first state-winning swim event by a JHS team since 2003.
The women’s team came in 15th in the state, with Emily Darnell capturing 5th place in IM diving. Coach Robert Mohney was named the Women’s Swim Coach of the Year.

INDOOR TRACK: The men’s track team finished second in the state after a controversial interference call during a relay kept them from winning the championship. Coach James Carter said disappointingly, “I had some words with the official.”
Several Falcons took home state titles: Jaleel Griffin in hurdles, Xavier Perkins in shotput and Chase Hunter in high jump. The women’s team came in 5th in the state.

BASKETBALL: Boys’ varsity finished 4th in the conference going 14-12, Deuce Sumpter and Finn Colini both made all-conference. The state playoffs start this week. The JV team went 13-4.

WRESTLING: Fares Alkurdasi won the state title at 175 pounds last weekend, Jordan’s first individual state champ since 2005. A young team with only three returning starters won eight of the last 10 matches to finish 10-11.
