Jordan's 60th Anniversary!

Jordan’s 60th-anniversary celebrations will commence this week, April 8-13. This week will honor the school’s history by acknowledging its academic and athletic successes, as well as encouraging students and staff to have school spirit.

 There will also be several activities to engage and connect the Jordan community. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a spirit week. The themes for this week include Tropical Day (Monday), Twin Day (Tuesday), Throwback Thursday, and Falcon Friday.

Some events will invite former Falcons back to campus. On Friday, Jordan will induct the first class to the Academic Hall of Fame. The Academic Hall of Fame will honor nine amazing educators (an0d many more to come) who have taught at Jordan. 

Additionally, on Saturday night, the Athletics Hall of Fame will host an induction ceremony. Seventeen Falcons, a mix of athletes and coaches, will join the Hall of Fame.

Current Jordan students are encouraged to learn more about the school’s rich history through an anniversary display in the library, announcements with facts about the school, and the History and Alumni page on the Jordan website. Jordan’s Innovation Lab, led by Mr. Albright, is producing a “We Are Jordan” video that will highlight our school and be presented at the Academic Hall of Fame event on Friday night.

Mr. McDonald, social studies teacher and AP Department head at Jordan, shares, “these celebrations are important because we stand on the shoulders of giants. Our excellence today is impossible without the acknowledgement of the people who came before us.” He adds that the people who have worked at Jordan throughout the years have formed a school of academic rigor, high performance, and excellence, which should continue to be built upon today.
