Jordan Moves Up a Letter Grade On School Report Card

Jordan High School has made notable progress in its academic performance, moving up a full letter grade, from a C to a B. Jordan is ranked at 180th amongst high schools in the state and is one of the 16 high schools in the district.

Principal Taylor expressed both pride and desire for improvement. “I was very pleased, and I thought about all the people who made it possible, but then I was also disappointed because we only met growth and did not increase growth,” she said. According to Principal Taylor, several areas contributed to the school's improvement including Math 1, Math 3, English 2, Biology, ACT WorkKeys, course rigor, and cohort graduation rate. The greatest impact came from Math 1, Math 3, English 2, Biology, and ACT WorkKeys, which all showed increases.

Despite the overall improvement, JHS also experienced a decline in cohort graduation rate and English learner progress, remaining as challenges as the school works toward academic growth. While moving up a letter grade marks an incredible milestone for Jordan, school leaders like Ms Taylor recognize that there is still room for improvement.
