Innovation Lab’s new video “Song in Real Life” has over 600k views, surpassing the program’s previous record of 20k views. “I did think it was going to catch the attention of a lot of people, just not this many,” said Analia, co-creator of the video. Fellow co-creator Jayla was also happy about the volume of people that saw the video, “I wouldn’t change a single thing about going viral. I’m glad it reached as many people as it did.”
“I was nervous when I first found out about it, because I want this program to be positive, have a positive impact on students, and sometimes internet virality can lead to unintended consequences, like negative feedback from people outside of our community,” said Mr. Albright.

“I think it's, I think it's a teachable moment. I don't know that I would say that it's something to be excited about, because it's a, it's fool's gold…I worry that students will then try to make videos just to get viral, and if they don't achieve that,[they’ll think] their videos are not successful. So I think I want them just to focus on the quality of the videos and not worry about external metrics,” Mr. Albright continued.
“To be in a viral video is, this is all so overwhelming to me,” said Mr. Burton, who starred in the video. He followed this by mentioning that he does actually know how to dougie.
